Having to choose analogue or IP is a thing of the past: HDcctv opens up a third way into the world of professional video technology. Because the HDcctv Standard (High Definition Closed Circuit Television) based on HD-SDI allows digital transmission and recording of HD signals over conventional CCTV infrastructures. But to make a long story short, what does this mean for you? Video surveillance over coaxial cable with outstanding image quality, which has previously been restricted to only IP megapixel cameras. But unlike IP-based video technology, video data are not compressed in a HDcctv system, so there are also no disturbing artifacts. A further advantage: HDcctv cameras and HDcctv domes transmit video data with near-zero latency and therefore usually deliver better live imagery than IP cameras. But whilst IP cameras can of course keep pace with HDcctv devices when it comes to image resolution, analogue cameras look old in the truest sense of the word: with 720p and 1080p (equates to the resolution of 1.3 and 2 megapixels) in the 16:9 format, HDcctv cameras deliver an image resolution three to six times higher than conventional CCTV systems. HD-quality pictures naturally, but this would be without having to configure a network.
